Larry Wikoff, Treasuer


Lin Quenzer - Chair
Lin Quenzer, LGBT Caucus Chair, has been an out-LGBT activitist for more than 15 years. Originally from South Dakota, Lin decided to settle in Lincoln, Nebraska after seven years as a professional musician traveling 17 states and several Canadian provinces performing primarily as a bass guitarist. She returned to college at the University of Nebraska, majoring in Women's Studies and serving as co-publisher of the "Woman's Journal Advocate," feminist/lesbian newspaper with a national circulation. Through WJA, Lin strongly advocated for increased visibility and rights for the LGBT community and women. Lin has also served as a Volunteer In Service To America (VISTA) for the Lincoln Literacy Council and Musical Director for the Lincoln Indian Community Church. She currently serves as the City's Ombudsman (Citizen Advocate), is active in the Lancaster County Democratic Central Committee, and is completing a degree in English at the College of Saint Mary. She has been in a committed relationship with her partner, Barbara Baier, for 16 years. They have a five-year-old son.


Denys Steele, Parliamentarian & Secretary
Denys Steele, Nebraska Democratic LGBT Caucus Secretary and Parliamentarian, has been very active in the local LGBT Community. In high school, Denys worked for safer schools legislation on both the state, and national levels while participating in NESSN, the Nebraska State Student Network sponsored by the Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network (GLSEN). She was also on the debate team, a member of Lincoln North Star High school’s Gay Straight Alliance, and secretary of student council. Currently, Denys is attending Southeast Community College - Lincoln and working towards a degree in Political Science.


Barbara Baier, 1st Openly Lesbian (or Gay) Elected Official (Lincoln Board of Education Member)
Barbara Baier has been an out-LGBT activitist for more than 18 years. Barbara was raised on a dairy farm in northeast Nebraska and attended college at the University of Nebraska majoring in English and Sociology. Her interests include art, writing, gardening, and cooking. She co-published the "Women's Journal Advocate" for more than seven years, helping to expand its coverage of issues to include racism and poverty issues, as well as LBGT and women's issues. For more than 12 years, she served as Development Director at the Lincoln Action Program, a community service agency promoting self-sufficiency among low-income families. She is presently the City of Lincoln's Grant Writer-Administrator and operates Baier Development Services, providing consulting and other services regarding fund raising for non-profit organizations and governmental entities. She is also active in the Lancaster County Democratic Central Committee and serves on the Nebraska State Democratic Central Committee. Barbara has also been active with Nebraskans for Peace, People First, Lincoln/Lancaster County Homeless Coalition, UNL Women's Resource Center, Bright Lights, Lincoln Indian Community Church, Parents & Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG), and other groups. She has been in a committed relationship with her partner, Lin Quenzer, for 16 years. They have a five-year-old son.
